Crail is a beautiful small historic fishing village in the East Neuk of Fife. There is great scope for walking, cycling, boat trips, physical activities, sailing and bird watching in Crail and the surrounding area. There are also many attractions and places of interest to visit in Fife and these are only short drives from the house. The village is well served for amenities with two pubs/hotels, a fruit and vegetable shop, a butcher's shop, two small supermarkets, a post office, a newsagents, a chemist and a fish and chip shop/ cafe. These are all within a few minutes walking distance.

There are two beaches, one at the harbour and one at Roome Bay (400 yards along the coast) and two swing parks. There are two golf courses at Balcomie (2 miles along the coast).
